Advanced Rig Equipment Inspection
Course Overview:
- To ensure optimum performance for the rig, reduce downtime, and maintain safety of personnel, planned maintenance and accurate inspections are essential.
- Rig Shield is pleased to deliver a Rig Equipment Inspection course which aims to discuss in detail all the important elements relevant to rig inspection to ensure that the rig being hired is capable of carrying out the Drilling Program safely
Course Objective:
– Analyze some of Rig shield several important standards for rig inspection like rig shield’s standard of procedures SOP, Rig inspection manual and the international standards like (API, IADC drilling manual, IADC HSE guidelines….).
– Judge well control equipment and well control equipment standards.
– determine the condition of equipment visually (External & Internal) as per latest edition of standards.
– Determine the main inspection criteria for major equipment.
– Derive maintenance system for entire equipment to assure safe operating condition for the equipment.
– Judge major items that have an impact on the safety and operation of a rig.
– Trainees will need to defend their recommendation of preventive maintenance system for the rig equipment.
– Build the indicators of the overall condition of a drilling rig (Building Condition Lever).
– Analyze the relevant standards (such as API) and their implications for drilling equipment.
– Evaluate the condition of Explosion proof equipment (EX) installed in hazardous areas.
– Analyze the inspection procedures on the rig to assure good practice.
– Evaluate maintenance procedures of rig equipment concurrently with equipment manufacturer to assure safe operating condition of the equipment.
– Build a set of recommendations to increase the equipment performance to derive the operations in safe manner.
– Determine the impacts and risks on critical equipment.
– Analyze links between safety and inspection practices.
Course Audience:
- The course consists of four or five days depending on whether they are onshore or offshore based.
- Candidates will be issued IADC certificates upon completion of the course.
